about

I was born in Damascus and spent my childhood between Syria and Lebanon. After moving to Italy, I studied at the Civica Scuola di Cinema in Milan and later Arabic Language and Culture at the I.S.I.A.O. in Rome. I started working as a film and tv Editor in Milan, then I moved to Rome where I worked for 13 years as Senior Editor and Producer in the Arab satellite TV Orbit.
In 2009 I founded the company Atabulo for the production of documentaries and reports from the south of the Mediterranean, focusing on issues such as human and civil rights, environment, integration and gender issues.
Among the most important works, there are also two feature short films directed by award winning filmmaker Francesca Archibugi, “Giulia ha picchiato Filippo” with Riccardo Scamarcio and Jasmine Trinca, and “È stata lei” with Claudio Santamaria. The latest Atabulo production, a creative documentary "Faith and freedom" on Christian minorities in Syria, Iran and Pakistan for RaiCinema (2018).
Since 2018 I have been working as a freelance Producer and started some collaborations with foreign producers and media. I am also the project and multimedia manager of the EuropaNow! association.
